If I had been born on this day...

If I had been born on this day...

...50 years ago, I'd be one of the best looking actors in Hollywood, partnered with one of the best looking actresses in Hollywood with 6 kids and jetsetting all over the world trying to do good, just like Brad Pitt.

...67 years ago, I'd be one of the most influential directors in Hollywood and worth 1.3 billion dollars, just like Steven Spielberg.

...35 years ago, I'd be Joey Potter on Dawson's Creek and then years later I'd get married in an Italian castle, then file for divorce after just 5 years from the wacky, yet handsome, Tom Cruise....but walk away with $15 million, just like Katie Holmes.

....59 years ago, I'd be an actor with intense blue eyes, who appears and disappears in an Iowa corn field into Field of Dreams, just like Ray Liotta.

....33 years ago, I'd be a former Mickey Mouse Club member with a very big voice, now worth $90 million, just like Christina Aguilera.

....70 years ago, I'd be an old rocker  and member of one of the most famous and wealthiest rock bands in the world and own 1,000 guitars. Then I'd portray Capt Jack Sparrow's dad, Capt Teague in a very popular pirate movie and I'd  live a hard partying lifestyle and make it to 70 even though no one would think I would.  And I'd prove that you don't have to necessarily be handsome to get a model for a wife, just like Keith Richards.

Happy 64th Birthday Don Johnson!

Dear Don,
I know you've done other work besides Miami Vice, but I'll always think of you in your pastel tshirts under a white Armani suit, sleeves pushed up, no socks, slip on loafers, and Ray Bans. Oh and the ever-lasting 5 o'clock shadow!

Your Miami Vice style epitomized the 80's. And who can go to an 80's themed party without seeing a few men in "Sonny Crocket" wear?!

If I could, I'd send you a nice pair of socks for your birthday. Naaaw, just kidding! You were a style icon. Why ruin a good thing? Hoping you still dress like the Sonny Crocket I know and love! Have a wonderful 64th birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 59th Barry Williams!

Dear Barry Williams, aka Greg Brady, aka Johnny Bravo:

Shocking to think that you're 59 today!  And just to help you celebrate...

F-F F-I-L L-L L-M-O O-O O-R-E Fillmore Junior High! (repeat 10 more times)

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. And every time I drive through Fillmore, UT, I still shout out that cheer in your honor!
You're the grooviest!

Happy 54th Jason Alexander!

"I'm disturbed, I'm depressed, I'm inadequate, I've got it all!"
--George Costanza

Happy 54th Birthday Jason Alexander!  What?!  Your real name is Jason Greenspan?  I thought it was Art Vandalay...Or George Cantstandya...Biff Loman?

Thank you for the character George Costanza, which I enjoyed from 1989-1998 and will continue to enjoy forever and ever! Yada, yada, yada...
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 40th James Marsden

Dear James Marsden,

Happy 40th Birthday today. Considering you got your start on "Saved By The Bell: The New Class," I'd say you've done pretty well for yourself. And you're still easy on the eyes.

And speaking of eyes, watching the X-Men movies, I kept saying to my kids: "Is that guy ever going to take off those weird sunglasses?" Sorry, Mr. Cyclops, I was never much of a comic book fan.

And for the record, James, in The Notebook, I would've picked you over Noah (aka Ryan Gossling) any day!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 40th Birthday Andrew Lincoln!

Dear Andrew Lincoln,
Happy 40th Birthday to you today!
I want you to know that because of your scene in the film "Love Actually," every Christmas I open my front door hoping you'll be standing there on my doorstep with your cue cards. Will you be here this year? I'll be anxiously waiting.
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 77th Birthday Robert Redford

Mr. Redford,

I've known since I was 13 years old when I first saw you in "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid" that I would be your devoted fan for my entire life! Even the day I saw you at the Sundance Ski Resort during my college years didn't change anything. Being the serious college student that I was, I took ski classes in the morning and in the afternoon...so chances that I see you would be much greater. And on the day I saw you in the resort, I was quite surprised at how short and thin you were. However, I can assure you that didn't change anything!

On the day I got married to my husband in 1983, a friend of mine saw my husband and said: "I see you married your Robert Redford!"...yep, I was always partial to blondes with blue eyes, just like you. I'm forever your fan...even now that you're old and quite wrinkled. (hey, but who isn't!)

A friend of mine saw you once recently and noticed how much your face has aged, and said: "He looks like he's had a happy life...You can tell he's done a lot of smiling." I hope that's what people will say about me.

Happy 77th Birthday! I'm sure you agree! I look better in this photo than Barbra Streisand did!

Happy 68th Birthday Steve Martin!

"I wanted to expand my life in the way Leonardo da Vinci did. And that's why I took up juggling.
I know what you're saying you're saying: Steve, where do YOU find time to juggle?
Well, I juggle in my mind.
...whoops!" --SteveMartin

Dear Steve,
Hoping you found time to juggle on your 68th birthday yesterday!  I wish I'd known you when you lived in Garden Grove. I know we would've been great friends...if I'd been born. From one Orange County-an to another...
Regards, Mrs Love
PS. Happy to report I've read ShopGirl 100 times...and counting!

Happy 69th Birthday Sam Elliott!

Dear Sam Elliott,
Have you ever fallen in love with a voice? And every time you hear that voice your heart skips a beat? <sigh> Probably not.  Well I have. I fell in love with your voice (and your moustache too!) in 1976 when I saw you in Lifeguard. <swoon>

Today you are 69 and your voice still makes me swoon!

I think tonight calls for a Sam Elliott movie marathon! Conagher, Tombstone, Gettysburg, Mask...just to name a few.

And quite honestly, your voice makes me want to go out and buy a Dodge Ram and I would, except for the fact that my husband works for Ford! Sorry Sam, if I bought I Dodge, my husband might leave me. :(

Happy 69th Birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 72nd Birthday Martha Stewart!

Happy 72nd Birthday Martha Stewart...I'm still trying to be "a good thing!"

Dear Martha,
Happy 72nd Birthday!

Many years ago, I got to meet you at a book signing event at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. I took my 2 daughters with me. They were so little then. Anyway, as we waited in the long line, anxiously hoping to meet you, my daughter Julie was standing in the path where you were to come through. Suddenly you and your entourage came through and you had to ask my daughter to move. You put your hand on her shoulder and said, "Excuse me, dear." Julie looked up and saw you face to face. She said wanted to scream!

When my daughter returned to the line where I was, she was so excited to tell me what had just happened. Two men who were in line behind us, heard the whole story, screamed and told my daughter to never wash her shoulder again! Now that's taking it a bit too far! Yes, Martha, we are fans, not psychopaths!

Have a wonderful birthday with your grandbabies!

Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 48th Birthday JK Rowling! Success looks great!

Dear JK, Joanne, Jo, or Robert Galbraith:
I may be a muggle ...but so are you! I just wanted to wish you a Happy 48th Birthday!

How wonderful it is to be so entertaining to so many readers...children and adults alike. Growing up, I don't remember going crazy about any books. Maybe Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. Other favorites...All Creatures Great and Small, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Thank goodness I had JRR Tolkein and Stephen King.

I was going to say that I wish you lots of luck in your writing career, however I don't think that's necessary. After all, you've had a true "rags to riches" life story--going from living on state benefits to multi-millionaire status within five years. According to one website your net worth is $1 billion. Not too shabby! As I can tell from this photo, success looks good on you! (or perhaps you can now a really good stylist!)

My favorite quote from Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire...
Albus Dumbledore (aka you!) said it best:  "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be."
You've certainly proven that!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 44th Birthday Simon Baker!

Dear Simon,

Remember me?  A couple of years ago I was at the Warner Bros. lot and you were just leaving your trailer to go to work on The Mentalist.  I yelled, "Simon!"  But you didn't look.  I yelled it again.  Still no response.  Then I yelled, "I love you!" and you looked...just as I snapped this picture.
What? You don't remember?

That's ok.  I'll remember it always.  That was such a fun, wonderful day hanging out at the Warner Bros. lot.  Beware, Mr. Baker...you never know where you're goin to see Mrs. Love!
Happy 44th Birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 84th Birthday Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

July 28, 2013

Dear Jacqueline,
Today would have been your 84th birthday.  Sadly, you left us in 1994 at the age of 64.

I have been your fan for many years.  I’ve read many books about you.  In fact, I bought another one today, as I was thinking about you.

When I was giving tours at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, I would show visitors the letter you wrote to Richard Nixon after the assassination of your husband.  You were thanking him for a letter he had written to you.  It’s handwritten…which always impressed me.  I also loved the replica of the Lincoln Sitting Room in the Nixon Library.  I always made sure that visitors knew that it looks just as you designed it.  It’s very comfortable and beautiful.  That room stayed the same through many presidential administrations after you lived there…until Hilary Clinton had it changed.

Having read so much about you I understand not everyone is your fan.  You were a very complex and private person.  I believe we can learn from another’s life, reading about their experiences and accomplishments…as well as their heartaches and challenges.   Your life was so different from my own, but I’ve learned from it.

I wasn’t raised in the “glamorous life.”  My family didn’t have a Park Avenue apartment or an elegant family estate in East Hampton. You had a comfortable living, surrounded by maids, butlers, nannies and chauffeurs.  I grew up in a small town in southern California in a modest tract home.  We were expected to do our own chores and most of the time our mother chauffeured us around in her big blue Ford station wagon.  I’ve never lived in the White House.  Today I live in a condo.

One thing I know we have in common….you loved books.  So do I.  You were known as a voracious reader.  So am I.  I remember the words your son, John Jr. said shortly after you passed away.  He said you were surrounded by your family, your friends and your books.  I hope that is how I will leave this world…with my favorite things around me--my family, my friends, and my books…well, it’ll probably be my Kindle.

Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 49th Birthday Sandra Bullock!

Dear Sandra,
Happy 49th Birthday!
The first time I saw you was Oct. 17, 1989. Do you remember? I was a member of the "live, studio audience" of a short-lived sit com you were starring in: Working Girl. The reason I recall the date? Because as I was arriving at the studio, someone told me that there had been a huge earthquake in San Francisco. It was later called the Loma Prieta earthquake and it measured at 6.9.

That's how I remember seeing you. I was clapping and doing my best at laughing at all the jokes as I sat in the audience. (By the way, I'm an AWESOME live, studio audience member!) However, that night, I kept wondering about that earthquake. Growing up in Southern California, I've been in many earthquakes, and I knew that was a bad one!

I also remember thinking you were so pretty. I'd never heard of you, but I thought you were very funny. Sorry that sit-com didn't last.

Then I saw the film, "Speed," and told my husband, "Hey, it's that girl from that sit-com I saw years ago!" Loved you in Speed! And each time I drive the 105 freeway near LAX I still look for a speeding bus with you driving it!

Hope you enjoyed your birthday today! You look wonderful and I think have gotten BETTER with age! I'm happy you're a mother now. And if you need me to set you up with some decent men (unlike Jesse James) I know a few who'd be interested! Love you!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 66th Birthday Steven Forbes!

Dear Steven,
I remember meeting you in the elevator at the Nixon Library many years ago. You were campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination. I think it was 2000. Remember me? I was the lady staring at you as we shook hands. I was trying to see if you would blink.

You see, that's one of the 3 things I remember about you. 1) you don't blink. 2) you are an example of how a person can get into politics even when they're not the most handsome....however, Sen. Mitch McConnell is a good example of that too!  And 3) you're a gazillionare.

No, you didn't blink that day. I checked. One day if we meet again, let's have a staring contest. You might win, but I'd be a good competitor!

And next time you decide to put tons of money into a campaign and it doesn't pan out for you...why not send it to a better cause. Me!
Happy 66th Birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 37th Birthday Fred Savage!

The cute little kid who said this is 37 today...
"They’re kissing again. Do we have to read the kissing parts?"
Happy Birthday Fred Savage! You grew up! Hope you finally got past the kissing stuff.
As you wish...

Happy 73rd Birthday Ringo Starr!

Dear Richard "Ringo Starr" Starkey,
Happy 73rd Birthday! You look great! Sorry I just found out about the noontime "Peace and Love" moment so I'll do it at midnight tonight in your honor! Two things I must tell you...Loved going to a Who concert in 2002 and seeing your son Zak at the drums...and you're still my favorite Mr Conductor for Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends!
Peace and Love!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 47th Birthday John Cusack!

Dear John Cusack,
I always look out my window when I hear rain pouring at night, hoping to see you holding up a boom box with Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" blasting. Hey, it could happen!
I'll be waiting and watching, Mr Cusack! Have a Happy 47th Birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 64th Birthday Meryl Streep

Dear Meryl,
I don't get jealous of many people but I'm jealous of you...for this! Happy 64th Birthday to one of the greatest actresses ever!

Happy 71st Birthday to Paul McCartney...the "cute" Beatle!

Dear Paul,
When the Beatles hit "When I'm Sixty-Four" was released in 1967, age 64 must've seemed super old to you then, Sir Paul. After all, you were just 25! Lol!

"Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm sixty-four?"
When you did turn 64 in 2006, you were in the midst of a messy divorce from wife no. 2...so the answer to that question was NO.

However, now you seem much happier with wife no. 3, so maybe you should change the lyrics to:
"Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm seventy-one?"
Ok, it doesn't sound all that great but the answer would now be YES!
Regards, Mrs Love

Saturday, June 1, 2013

Happy 73rd Morgan Freeman!

Dear Morgan Freeman,
If they ever make a movie of my life (hey, anything's possible!) I'd like you to narrate it.

Happy 73rd to one of the hardest working actors in Hollywood! I've been your fan since the 70's when you were a cast member of The Electric Company!

You've said:
"I always tell my kids if you lay down, people will step over you. But if you keep scrambling, if you keep going, someone will always, always give you a hand. Always. But you gotta keep dancing, you gotta keep your feet moving."

Thank you for keep on dancing and sharing your talent all these years!

Happy 106th John Wayne!

In honor of what would be John "The Duke" Wayne's 106th Birthday, I'd like to share a story I posted to Facebook a few years ago. I had also shared it on the KTLA Morning News....and it's all true:

"A friend of ours had the first name John and middle name Wayne. Once he was trying to get our daughter to guess his name. He gave all kinds of hints like, 'I was named after a famous western actor, etc. etc.'

She could never figure it out. Finally he gave her the answer, 'My name is John Wayne!'  She looked at him completely serious and said, 'You were named after an airport???' "

Ohhhh my daughter Julie has given us years and years of laughs...and love!

Happy 63rd Birthday Bernie Taupin!

Dear Bernie Taupin,
I hope you don't mind,
I hope you don't mind,
that I'm wishing you a Happy 63rd Birthday!
How wonderful life is while you're in the world.

I like to think that "Your Song" is *my* song..Thank you for the lyrics. Sheer perfection.

Happy 64th Dave Thomas!

Dear Dave Thomas,
You're 64 today and to celebrate today, I'm going to watch "Adventures of Bob & Doug Mackenzie: Strange Brew" and brush up on my Canadian:

1. I will end every question today with 'eh?
2. Whenever I say "abOUT", I will pronounce it "abOOT."
3. When I talk about the Purse Dog I will say she's a "wee" dog...instead of "little."
4. When I go "out" today, I'll say I'm going "oot."
5. When I order a drink at Del Taco, I'll say: I'd like a large "pop."
6. If I say the ABC's I'll call Z "Zed"
7. I'll say my "postal code" is 92870, instead of "zip code"
8. And last but not least, I'll talk about hockey and call everyone a "hoser" today!
Happy 64th Birthday, eh?
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 68th Birthday Pete Townshend!

Dear Pete Townshend,
You've said: "When I grew up, what was interesting for me was that music was color and life was gray. So music for me has always been more than entertainment."
And when I grew up, your's was the music I loved.  In 7th grade our music teacher, Mr Allen taught us the rock album "Tommy"...and we dissected the lyrics and looked for hidden messages...(hey, it was 1973).  I was hooked!  At night I would go to sleep listening to your albums. Today I listen to the same albums with my earbuds in, connected to my iPhone.
Thank you for your talent. Happy 68th Birthday! Rock on, Pete!
A loyal fan always,
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy Birthday Darren McGavin!

Dear Darren McGavin,
Every time I see the word "Fragile," I pronounce it "Fra-gee-lay." Thank you for your role as Mr. Parker in the 1983 film "A Christmas Story." Watching it was a holiday tradition for my family for years. Even on Christmases when it's just me and my husband...we still watch it!
Today would've been your 91st birthday, but sadly you left us in 2006 at age 83. I've been your fan for so many years and enjoyed so many of your roles. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 58th Birthday Donatella Versace!

Dear Donatella Versace,
You're 58 today? Only 5 years older than I am? I'm sorry I thought you were older...
You're a good example of when too much plastic surgery on the face was not a good idea. However a good example of when lipo or plastic surgery or something on those cankles WOULD'VE been a great idea!
Sorry if that sounds mean Donatella, but that's the way I see it!
Regards, Mrs Love

All these people had birthdays today!

Too bad today isn't my birthday...
Then I'd be funny and retired and worth $800 million and never have to work a day in my life like Jerry Seinfeld, 59 today...

Or I'd never look my age like fellow OC girl, beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer, 55 today...

Or I'd be super tall and have a funny name like Uma Thurman, 43 today...

Or I'd be uber-rich, and have a movie based on me called "Citizen Love" and I'd build a castle in San Simeon named "Love Castle" like William Randolph Hearst, who would be 150 today....

Or I'd decorate my fireplace mantel with all my awards (Oscars, Golden Globes, BAFTA Masks, SAG Actors, MTV Movie Awards Golden Popcorns, etc.) like Daniel Day Lewis, 55 today...

Or I'd be an ultra-talented jazz musician like Duke Ellington, who would be 114 today...

Or I'd be a super-fast NASCAR race car driver like Dale Earnhardt, who would've been 62 today (he left us too soon)....

Or I'd wear a silly black wig and scream in an annoying voice "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" like Eve Plumb (aka Jan Brady), 55 today...

Or I'd wear a cool headband and mullet wig until Brooke Shields suggests that I shave my head bald and I'd be the greatest tennis player of all time and retire at 36 like Andre Agassi, 43 today...

Or I'd have a cool surfer dad (wait! I *do* have a cool surfer dad) and have trouble with my weight going up and down (wait! I *do* have that problem) and change my hair from blonde to brunette and back again! (wow! Who knew Carnie and I would be so much alike?!) like Carnie Wilson, 45 today.

But today is *not* my birthday. Oh well...luckily I thought of all you celebs today and could wish YOU a Happy Birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 80th Birthday Carol Burnett!

Dear Carol Burnett,
Today I tugged my earlobe for you on your 80th birthday. I grew up watching your show! You always made me laugh...and I never really stopped.

Happy 449th Birthday Wm Shakespeare!

Dear Bill,
I wonder if the audience of your first play left shaking their heads saying: "I didn't understand a word of that, did you?" ....just like I did after my first Works of Shakespeare class in college.

"To be or not to be." ...the only thing I remember from that class!

Happy Birthday William "Bard of Avon" Shakespeare! Today you would be 449. [sometimes I feel that old!]
Regards, Mrs Love

Monday, April 22, 2013

Happy 63rd Birthday Peter Frampton!

Dear Peter Frampton,
Happy 63rd Birthday! 63rd? Where did the time go?

Whenever I hear your hit "Do You Feel Like We Do?" I get a big smile on my face and I think of my college days. The year was 1979 and it was my first semester away from home living in a dorm. I was a loyal and devoted fan and completely hooked when I bought the album “Frampton Comes Alive.” I listened to it over and over again and even screamed along with your fans...the ones who screamed in the background of that album. My roommate and I had your poster up on our dorm room and we'd kiss it every night...remember we were 18! Let's just say, by the end of the semester there was a ton of lipgloss covering your face. Lol!

Of course, your poster was part of the "wallpaper" in that dorm room...along with posters of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Kiss, and The Who.

Yes, Peter, I even raised my kids listening to your music. Next I'll be introducing my grandkids to it!
Your hair is now "chrome" and your curly golden locks are gone, but I'm still your loyal and devoted fan.
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 49th Birthday Andy Serkis

Gollum, Kong, and Caesar are 49 today! Happy Birthday Andy Serkis! You are amazing!

Friday, April 19, 2013

Happy 35th Birthday James Franco!

Dear James Franco,
You're 35 today! Hope you had a Happy Birthday!

When you were filming the Broadway scene in "SpiderMan 3" (you remember the one...when MJ is singing and you watch from the balcony), director Sam Raimi told you to look at someone for your focal point. Now, who was that? Was is Kirsten Dunst? Nope. Was it Tobey Macguire? Nope. What? You don't remember? It was a girl named Stacy. Yep, that's right. My daughter. And when you two looked at each other (she was sitting behind Tobey) it was true love. Ok, only for a second. At least that's what I tell everyone. However, you did make eye contact!

Thanks James, for giving me a good story to tell for years and years. And I must say, you're a very good actor, who can memorize lines and can deliver in just one take. Or so my sources tell me. :)

And lastly, I must tell you I loved you in "Freaks and Geeks!" You would've been MY boyfriend, if you were really from the 70's!

Have a wonderful birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 50th Conan OBrien!

Happy 50th Birthday Conan O'Brien!
Love you...love your hair!
Had a great time at your show a couple years ago. But if I go again, can you get me front row seats? And maybe make it so I don't have to wait in line? I'm telling you...you won't be sorry. I'll be your best audience member. I'm an awesome clapper!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 29th Birthday Mandy Moore!

Dear Mandy Moore,
When I hear your music, I think of my daughter Julie, who has always been one of your biggest fans!

When I hear one of your songs, Mandy, or watch one of your movies, it's like no time has passed...and Julie's living with us...and she's a teenager...and her room's a mess...and smells of chlorine. Haha! (she was a swimmer and played waterpolo)

Now she's all grown up, lives some 700 miles away in a small town in Utah. She's happy and has a husband and a little boy and a home of her own...which is spotless, I might add, and DOESN'T smell of chlorine...Ever!

Mandy, thank you for your talent and for sharing it with us. And thank you for the good memories your talent has brought to my life.
Happy 29th Birthday!
Regards, Mrs Love

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Happy 23rd Birthday Kristen Stewart!

Kristen Stewart is 23 today. I know this may upset some Twilight fans, but it is a great mystery to me how she's landed lead roles in some pretty big films. If the roles call for monotone script reading with a wooden expression, lip biting and hair-flipping, then I guess she's your girl.

When my daughter wrote a one-act play for the "Theater of Note" a number of years ago, I got to watch the auditioning process. I was just an observer but got to witness some phenomenal actors. They were artists who were still pounding the pavement everyday...waiting for their "big break."

I suppose Kristen Stewart was just "in the right place at the right time." Many times that's all it takes in Hollywood.

There, I said it. That's how I feel.
...I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 47th Birthday Robin Wright!

Happy 47th Birthday Robin Wright...the Princess Bride,
I'm still waiting for someone to say to me: "As you wish."

Happy 61st Birthday Marilu Henner!

Dear Marilu,
Happy 61st Birthday! I'll bet today was a birthday you'll never forget...Because you can't! You have "Superior Autobiographical Memory" which means you recall almost every day of your life. I saw you on 60 Minutes a few years ago and they featured you and your amazing memory. At least I think it was you...I can't quite remember...You see, I DON'T have your memory! I can barely remember what I did 5 minutes ago!

Loved you on Taxi and in L.A.Story...
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 91st Birthday Doris Day!

Dear Doris,
Today you're 91. What have I learned from you? That everyone looks better with a blurry filter. Once you got a few lines on your face, you had a contract that all your closeups had to be filmed with the blurry filter...sometimes called the "Doris Day filter." It's especially noticeable in some of your most popular films when Rock Hudson is still in sharp focus, but you're all fuzzy and glowing.

Now I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm grateful for today's Photoshop and Instagram. Truth be known, I rarely post any pictures of myself online that don't have the "Doris Day filter!" Thanks for the great idea! As far as I'm concerned no "que serĂ¡ serĂ¡" for me...no "whatever will be will be!" Why not make it all fuzzy and glowing, like you did?!
Happy 91st!

Happy 99th Alec Guinness!

Dear Alec "Obi-Wan Kenobi" Guinness,

Today you would be 99 yrs old but you left us in 2000. May I ask you a Star Wars question? This is something that has bothered me...

Why did Obi-Wan age so much between Star Wars 3 & 4? Perhaps your wrinkles & white hair can be explained by living outdoors for 20 yrs (in a cave, but still). Furthermore, you lived in windy, dry conditions & under double suns. Living under two suns must've wreaked havoc on your skin. (I know what one sun can do!)

So maybe this is why you looked like Ewan MacGregor once & then like you! These are the things that keep me up at night...

May The Force continue to be with you...wherever you are!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy Birthday Alice Cooper!

Happy 65th Birthday Vincent Damon "Alice Cooper" Furnier.
Whenever I forget to take off my eye makeup at night, I see your face in the bathroom mirror when I wake up.
Regards, Mrs Love

PS. Loved your restaurant in downtown Phoenix "Alice Cooperstown." Love how all the waiters do their makeup like you!

Happy Birthday Rosamund Pike!

Happy 34th Birthday beautiful Rosamund Pike!
What a perfect day for you to celebrate your birthday *and* the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice...published today in 1813. Perfect....because you had the good fortune to portray the character, beautiful Jane Bennet, in the 2005 version of the film. That film, along with the novel, have made all women, young and old wonder if there are men out there like Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley. Will we keep looking?
"Yes, a thousand times yes!"
Regards, Mrs Love

PS. I wish I could say my husband comes close, but we live in a condo, not Pemberley!
