Happy 48th Birthday JK Rowling! Success looks great!

Dear JK, Joanne, Jo, or Robert Galbraith:
I may be a muggle ...but so are you! I just wanted to wish you a Happy 48th Birthday!

How wonderful it is to be so entertaining to so many readers...children and adults alike. Growing up, I don't remember going crazy about any books. Maybe Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. Other favorites...All Creatures Great and Small, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Thank goodness I had JRR Tolkein and Stephen King.

I was going to say that I wish you lots of luck in your writing career, however I don't think that's necessary. After all, you've had a true "rags to riches" life story--going from living on state benefits to multi-millionaire status within five years. According to one website your net worth is $1 billion. Not too shabby! As I can tell from this photo, success looks good on you! (or perhaps you can now a really good stylist!)

My favorite quote from Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire...
Albus Dumbledore (aka you!) said it best:  "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be."
You've certainly proven that!
Regards, Mrs Love

Happy 44th Birthday Simon Baker!

Dear Simon,

Remember me?  A couple of years ago I was at the Warner Bros. lot and you were just leaving your trailer to go to work on The Mentalist.  I yelled, "Simon!"  But you didn't look.  I yelled it again.  Still no response.  Then I yelled, "I love you!" and you looked...just as I snapped this picture.
What? You don't remember?

That's ok.  I'll remember it always.  That was such a fun, wonderful day hanging out at the Warner Bros. lot.  Beware, Mr. Baker...you never know where you're goin to see Mrs. Love!
Happy 44th Birthday!

Happy 84th Birthday Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

July 28, 2013

Dear Jacqueline,
Today would have been your 84th birthday.  Sadly, you left us in 1994 at the age of 64.

I have been your fan for many years.  I’ve read many books about you.  In fact, I bought another one today, as I was thinking about you.

When I was giving tours at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, I would show visitors the letter you wrote to Richard Nixon after the assassination of your husband.  You were thanking him for a letter he had written to you.  It’s handwritten…which always impressed me.  I also loved the replica of the Lincoln Sitting Room in the Nixon Library.  I always made sure that visitors knew that it looks just as you designed it.  It’s very comfortable and beautiful.  That room stayed the same through many presidential administrations after you lived there…until Hilary Clinton had it changed.

Having read so much about you I understand not everyone is your fan.  You were a very complex and private person.  I believe we can learn from another’s life, reading about their experiences and accomplishments…as well as their heartaches and challenges.   Your life was so different from my own, but I’ve learned from it.

I wasn’t raised in the “glamorous life.”  My family didn’t have a Park Avenue apartment or an elegant family estate in East Hampton. You had a comfortable living, surrounded by maids, butlers, nannies and chauffeurs.  I grew up in a small town in southern California in a modest tract home.  We were expected to do our own chores and most of the time our mother chauffeured us around in her big blue Ford station wagon.  I’ve never lived in the White House.  Today I live in a condo.

One thing I know we have in common….you loved books.  So do I.  You were known as a voracious reader.  So am I.  I remember the words your son, John Jr. said shortly after you passed away.  He said you were surrounded by your family, your friends and your books.  I hope that is how I will leave this world…with my favorite things around me--my family, my friends, and my books…well, it’ll probably be my Kindle.

Happy 49th Birthday Sandra Bullock!

Dear Sandra,
Happy 49th Birthday!
The first time I saw you was Oct. 17, 1989. Do you remember? I was a member of the "live, studio audience" of a short-lived sit com you were starring in: Working Girl. The reason I recall the date? Because as I was arriving at the studio, someone told me that there had been a huge earthquake in San Francisco. It was later called the Loma Prieta earthquake and it measured at 6.9.

That's how I remember seeing you. I was clapping and doing my best at laughing at all the jokes as I sat in the audience. (By the way, I'm an AWESOME live, studio audience member!) However, that night, I kept wondering about that earthquake. Growing up in Southern California, I've been in many earthquakes, and I knew that was a bad one!

I also remember thinking you were so pretty. I'd never heard of you, but I thought you were very funny. Sorry that sit-com didn't last.

Then I saw the film, "Speed," and told my husband, "Hey, it's that girl from that sit-com I saw years ago!" Loved you in Speed! And each time I drive the 105 freeway near LAX I still look for a speeding bus with you driving it!

Hope you enjoyed your birthday today! You look wonderful and I think have gotten BETTER with age! I'm happy you're a mother now. And if you need me to set you up with some decent men (unlike Jesse James) I know a few who'd be interested! Love you!

Happy 66th Birthday Steven Forbes!

Dear Steven,
I remember meeting you in the elevator at the Nixon Library many years ago. You were campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination. I think it was 2000. Remember me? I was the lady staring at you as we shook hands. I was trying to see if you would blink.

You see, that's one of the 3 things I remember about you. 1) you don't blink. 2) you are an example of how a person can get into politics even when they're not the most handsome....however, Sen. Mitch McConnell is a good example of that too!  And 3) you're a gazillionare.

No, you didn't blink that day. I checked. One day if we meet again, let's have a staring contest. You might win, but I'd be a good competitor!

And next time you decide to put tons of money into a campaign and it doesn't pan out for you...why not send it to a better cause. Me!
Happy 66th Birthday!

Happy 37th Birthday Fred Savage!

The cute little kid who said this is 37 today...
"They’re kissing again. Do we have to read the kissing parts?"
Happy Birthday Fred Savage! You grew up! Hope you finally got past the kissing stuff.
As you wish...

Happy 73rd Birthday Ringo Starr!

Dear Richard "Ringo Starr" Starkey,
Happy 73rd Birthday! You look great! Sorry I just found out about the noontime "Peace and Love" moment so I'll do it at midnight tonight in your honor! Two things I must tell you...Loved going to a Who concert in 2002 and seeing your son Zak at the drums...and you're still my favorite Mr Conductor for Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends!
Peace and Love!
